STUDIO DAYS IN LONDON

A DAY WITH TACITURNLI®

This autumn, Taciturnli came to London for a four-day shoot and interview series with six artists from different disciplines. We stepped into their creative and living spaces among music, puppetry, printmaking, plants, textiles and performance to find moments of resonance and inspiration.

VC PINES (He/Him)Music & Home

Our first artist is musician VC Pines. We visited his living-room studio in Crystal Palace, South London, where he shared stories about his creative process and daily life.Wearing pieces from Taciturnli, he performed his own music for us, his calm presence and warmth set the tone for the journey ahead.

Oliver Hymans (He/Him)Puppets & Stage

Next, we traveled to Little Angel Theatre in Angel, North London, to meet puppeteer Oliver Hymans. His studio was filled with wooden puppets and stage props, their tactile warmth echoing the colour palette of Taciturnli’s AW 2025 collection. Oliver guided us into the world behind string puppetry a handmade art form that carries its own quiet vitality.

Sophie Popper (She/They)Humour & Cardboard

Our third artist, Sophie Popper, is a visual creator based in Bow Arts, tucked within an old council house. Her studio is compact yet bursting with playful cardboard installations and a sense of humour. The lightness and imagination in her work brought unexpected joy to our visit.

Yaya Hai (They/Them)Nature & Community

Our fourth stop was with Yaya Hai at the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve Community Garden. We spent a morning surrounded by greenery, learning how they create and host workshops within nature. The sunlight, herbs, and scent of soil made this session feel especially free and grounding.

Stephen Kenny (He/Him)Print & Time

The fifth artist is printmaker Stephen Kenny our second collaboration since 2018.This time, we visited his Printers Devil studio in Hackney to design and print the 10th Anniversary Poster for Yangmeizhu Store. The wooden drawers neatly filled with movable type stand as quiet traces of time. Our collaborative anniversary poster will be unveiled at this month’s celebration.

Merry Lamb Lamb (She/Her)Lake & Music

For the final stop, we joined musician Merry Lamb Lamb at South Norwood Lake, one of her favorite places of inspiration. Under the sunlight, we talked about her musical journey and her experiences living in London, Hong Kong, and Beijing. She told us that since moving to London, she has come to love nature and the outdoors even more.

Four days, six artists, six distinct spaces. Through this journey, Taciturnli met, conversed, and collaborated with creators across disciplines. Each encounter redefined our understanding of “creation” and built genuine connections between the brand and the artists. Stay tuned as we release each artist’s feature story and film in the coming weeks.
