VC PINES - STUDIO DAYS IN LONDON

A DAY WITH TACITURNLI®

VC PINES He/Him @vcpines

We visited VC Pines living-room studio in Crystal Palace, South London, where he shared stories about his creative process and daily life. Wearing pieces from Taciturnli, he performed his own music for us, his calm presence and warmth set the tone for the journey ahead.

VC PINES Q&A for Taciturnli

T: What’s something you’re working on right now that’s completely taken over your headspace?

VC: New music! I’ll often wake up with an idea running round my head and I have to finish writing it or see it through to get it out, then I’m onto the next.

T: Do you have any daily rhythms or little rituals that help you stay grounded?

VC: I train most mornings, either Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, there’s a club down the road from me and it keeps me sane.

T: Which artist or art collective inspires you a lot?

VC: David Lynch

T: When you’re getting dressed, what matters most, how it feels, how it works, or the story it tells?

VC: How I feel influences what I wear for sure, and I feel differently every day, so I’m always just trying to follow my brain and let my thoughts, feelings and emotions decide. I like to pull different styles and influences together, especially contrasting themes and make them sit together.

T: How does wearing Taciturnli feel to you? Does it change the way you move or think?

VC: Tactiturnli definitely has a timeless quality to it. You can see classic inspiration but pulled forward to practicalities of today, it’s cool!

T: Where do you like to go for a walk in London?

VC: Along the Thames or in the Natural History Museum.

T: When you’re at the pub, what’s your go-to order?

VC: Guinness

T: What was the last moment that made you think, “I’m really lucky this is my job”?

VC: I feel like that whenever I’m making music or playing on stage, Glastonbury was definitely one of those moments where I felt it the strongest.

T:Describe today’s outfit in three words.

VC: Contrasting, Timeless, Unique.

T: Do you have any questions to ask Taciturnli?

VC: What inspires you to design the pieces you make?

When we discovered that the latest idea was to share diverse content in our own eyes, the base of content had changed. It might be possible to integrate newspapers and magazines. We called this method aTa Paper.
